If you think Portland is bad with it's liberal-biased self arrogance, try the University district in Eugene. They're more narrow minded down there and tend to smell of petchouli.
Point taken though. Perhaps we should change terms and make liberals into progressives and conservatives into traditionalists. That would better describe the two sides. Progressives want to change everything for what they feel is for the better and conservatives don't want to change from what they feel is better. Of course, this is all from the social aspects of the two sides. Don't even get me started on the fiscal part of the argument. |
