Yesterday, three years ago, my dad died. He was a rare individual; a man more honest than vain, a man more forthright than weak, and a man more willing to give than to take. I miss him greatly, and he is sorely missed by my sister, brother, and especially my mom. He was taken from us too early, and the hole, the space which he occupied in the dynamics of our family can be painfully felt. One of the most amazing things about my father was his ability to accept people for who they are, not for who he wanted them to be. I guess, that's what made him such an excellent probation officer.
I truly love and miss you, dad.
