May 03, 2003 Listen to this one. All right… see if you can fathom what it is that I'm about to tell you. See if you can grasp the unmitigated audacity, belligerence, and callousness of this act.So there I am at work. Not in my uniform, mind you. Seated in the computer room. Doing personal stuff. No where near clocked in. With all the lights turned off. Suddenly I hear a whistle blow four times. Not a "Zip-a-dee-doo-dah" kind of whistle, created by pursed lips and a happy face. No. This was a coaches whistle or a rape whistle. Blown curtly. Blown with bellicose intentions. I turn around, bewildered. Lo and behold… there's some grotesque obese woman standing at the counter, waving at me frantically, as if to say, "what the hell do you think you're doing? Come help me! Come help me... now!" I wave back. Turn around, and ignore the bitch. But as I'm seated there, I begin to wonder. The gall it takes to do that to a person. Blowing a goddamn whistle at a human being as if they were less than a dog is so utterly disrespectful and uncouth I have no words to describe it. Where I come from, if you treat someone with such a complete disregard for manners, good taste, and dishonor, you best back that shit up with some fists, because you're gonna be fightin'.
