Time to leave.

It is sad but true. I know how to end this war.

Actually, my friend Scott handed this knowledge to me. Thanks for that, man. However, regardless of the source, I still know how to end this ridiculous invasion of a country that had never, nor would have ever, attacked us. It is not a happy thing. It is not without its bloody price, but I guarantee that if King George initiated a draft, the war would end. If men and women who did not volunteer for combat were killed, something would happen, something much more poignant and powerful than what is happening currently.

Believe me, I do not want a draft. I do not relish the idea of MORE young Americans dieing needlessly for the unjust, undignified, dishonorable urgings of a moronic, Christian zealot, but it seems, especially with Bush's current regime, that violence does indeed beget violence. I wish there was another way. I wish the Democrats would stand up, united, and impeach one of the worst war criminals in American history. I wish the people of the United States would being shouting, and throwing rocks through windows, and demonstrating the need to pull out, not in ten years, or five, or two, but next month. I wish that the unflinching horror of Katrina, and the debacle thereafter were enough to dissuade any mature adult from ever again supporting King George. But I don't think that's going to happen. I think this country and this regime are in desperate need of being slapped, and slapped hard, rocking us out of our complacency and dreaded apathy.

The invasion is wrong. What we're doing there is wrong. Our country, yours and mine, is profiting from the deaths of thousands of Americans, and tens of thousands of Iraqi citizens. Just because they happen to have dark skin, or speak a different language, or worship in a manner contrary to ours, does not give us the right to dictate their government or their lives. When are people going to wake up?
