Etiquette... as a whole.

Now I have already defined etiquette. However, as I had eluded before, etiquette can be applied to every aspect of life. If you do not know what to do in any given situation, SHUT UP... until you LEARN what to do. This lesson was taught to me not only in Martial Arts and music, but in my writing as well. Therefore, I will attempt to outline certain areas in life, where etiquette most certainly strongly applies.

When someone says, "thank you", the correct response is, "You're welcome".

When a person says, "excuse me", you are invariably in their way or blocking something. With a great deal of humility, you should move out of their way, and say, "I'm sorry".

It is not a sign of weakness to say that you are sorry. I repeat... IT IS NOT A SIGN OF WEAKNESS TO SAY THAT YOU ARE SORRY.

When a person holds a door open for you, always thank them.

When there is someone behind you, always hold the door open for him or her.

It is rude... I repeat, IT IS RUDE TO TALK ON YOUR FUCKIN' CELL PHONE WHEN TALKING TO SOMEONE ELSE. Furthermore, it is rude to answer your cell phone when conducting business with either a cashier or waiter. Not to put too fine a point on it, you should never answer your cell phone in a movie theatre, restaurant, bar, library, or while on hallowed ground. In fact, your cell phone should not even be on in any of the above-mentioned areas. Oh to hell with it! Throw away your cell phone, and live unattached and happy.

Always signal when driving your car, no matter how trivial you might think it may be.

If anyone else can think of more instances where good etiquette applies, please let me know.
