Waxing -- rather darkly

I can't remember a time when I have been this apathetic about the whole process of voting. I don't know when it started- my apathy- not sure what was the spark that fired such a callous, conflagration of indifference. All I know is that I do not care. All I know is that I've never been less enthused, and or, disgusted with my country.

There are a few inescapable facts that haunt my ennui. Fact number one: with this completely convoluted mess of electoral votes, and not Popular, I suffer the overwhelming fact that my vote means and counts for nothing. Fact number two: this hole, in which King George has firmly planted his child-like and stubborn feet, is too wide, too deep, and too full of a rising level of shit for us- the American people- to climb out. Fact number three: there are no differences between the Conservative and Liberal parties -- none. When liberals openly state that they will vote for Mccain because Hillary Clinton did not get the Democratic nomination, I have nothing, nor ever will have, anything in common with such simple thinking idiots. A vote for Mccain is a vote for the tyrannical regime that is firmly and forcefully planting its decidedly Nazi-like boot up the ass hole of America. Not only that, but the parties feel the same way about most issues.

I just don't know. I mean, I know I'm jaded. I know I'm cynical. Too many freedoms have been torn from us under the guise of fighting the insipid and nonsensical war on terror. I'm stunned by the lack of outrage and indignation. What happened to this countries sense of pride? What happened to the rebel inside every American? When did we all become so many sheep, mindlessly trotting after the technologically enhanced carrots dangled before us by someone who is mentally, physically, and emotionally beneath us? To be a patriot does NOT mean to dumbly accept anything and everything the government forces down our throat. A true patriot questions their government. A true patriot first feels with his heart, and then thinks with his brain.

I just don't know.

And with most things regarding my government -- I hope I'm, wrong. I hope it is not as bad as it appears.
