Scavenger’s Reign is one of the best shows I have ever seen on a streaming service. It successfully circumvents every expectation I ever had about what can be done in an animation show, and what can be achieved through a Sci-fi story. It is so transcendent, so goddamn brilliant it makes Avatar look like a mud-pie and Rebel Moon look like a finger painting done by a three-year old. There is so much I could say, so much that should be said about a show of this calibre, but instead of listening to me wax on and on about how beautiful and atmospheric and subtle and poignant and profound it is... just watch it.
I ask of you to do but one thing- don’t binge it. Art this moving and important needs to be savored, or it is simply relegated to the slush pile of meme’s, or the trash bin of an irrelevant sound bite off TikTok. If you must, only watch one episode a night. Binging the entire series, which one could probably do within an evening, would only tarnish and taint its inherent splendor. Trust me on this. I am not the brightest star in the night sky, but of this, I know quite a bit.
