  FUTURE WORLD

I got about 15 minutes into this movie before turning it off. (Yes, it is actually that bad.) I was drawn in by the cast, and the post apocalyptic themes (I'm a sucker for post apocalyptic themes). But nothing could prepare me for the grade school effort of this worthless film. Everything is done amateurishly: acting, directing (huh... there are two directors), writing, editing, cinematography, even music. It's just bad. Watching James Franco strutting about with his rotten grin trying to be this uber bad guy in a wasteland world is simply laughable. I think they were trying to recapture some former 80's movies like "The Road Warrior", "The Blood of Heroes", and most especially films like "Cyborg" and "Cherry 2000". But they missed the character arcs and good film making that elevated a few of those movies to cult classics. Instead they turned in a dull, lifeless facsimile of what they thought a post apocalyptic movie should be. And the real crime is the movie is not even fun. It's just stupid and boring.

Therefore "Future World" gets my lowest review, a RICE CAKE review.
