  STAR TREK

Star Trek - the movie is pretty damn entertaining. It is, quite literally, choked with Trek and Extreme-Sports type action, gorgeous C.G.I., and pretty decent acting. I certainly wasn't inspired by the film, I was, however, most definitely entertained. There were some very "sketchy" items regarding the plot, and the use of time travel as a tool to further the drama; which, if queried, this narrator would humbly think of as the last bastion of a true "hack". Considering that the science, if any, of time travel is all theoretical; any and all "loose-ends" in reference to the plot or characters can be tightly tied up in a matter of thematic seconds with the liberal application of pseudo science. Casting was pretty good, barring the inclusion of possibly Simon Pegg, every classic character was simply a better looking version of their sixties "selves".

Basically, Star Trek is a pretty solid FAST FOOD meal review.

P.s. Could someone tell me how and why the cast Winona Ryder as Spock's Earthly mother?
