  IDENTITY THIEF

Wow! I just researched the movie "Identity Thief", and found out it was directed by the same guy who directed "Horrible Bosses", which is, for my part, the funniest film to come around since "Badder Santa"; not to mention one of the sexiest roles for Jennifer Aniston. Onto the review.

"Identity Thief" is a horrendous pile of steaming offal. What very, very little story there is is pathetic, and ludicrously unrealistic. Jason Bateman's character is allowed to do things he would never, EVER be allowed to do. Furthermore, the way Federal agents just kind of, sort of, shrug their shoulders and say "nothin' we can do", is absurd. So, to start out you have an unrealistic premise and silly plot device: enter stage left- Melissa McCarthy- who is legitimately funny, but when the movie finally finds its heart (what little there is) her tears of self loathing feel a little too real, a little too candid. It's a wanna-be "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles", and a very poor 'wanna-be' at that.

"Identity Thief" gets my lowest review- RICE CAKE.
