  THE MONSTER

Like all good horror movies, "The Monster" is not about... 'the monster'. It is, in fact, about the estranged relationship between a mother and daughter. It is both acted well and written well. The cinematography is good and the titular monster is also done extremely well. I might quibble about a few choices, however, the choice to make the monster practical should be applauded by everyone... and by everyone, I mean... EVERYONE! "The Monster" is good horror film making. It is low budget, and it does extremely well within the limits of that.

Movies like this should be rewarded. They are good, they live outside the derivative, uninspiring realm of the Hollyweird system, and they need to continue and thrive, or we as an audience are relegated to re-boots and comic book shlock. "The Monster" gets a high FAST FOOD MEAL review.
