It's the month of October, the month of Halloween. Therefore, I've been watching a slew of horror/thriller movies. Which lead me to the nearly four year old Australian thriller entitled "Lake Mungo". The film is fantastic. Shot in a quasi documentary/found-footage mode, it brilliantly capitalizes on gritty, barely-seen, disturbing images. It is truly creepy, and adroitly has the viewer guessing is this real, or make-believe.
I cannot recommend this movie enough. Not since Women in Black, have I been so creeped out. "Lake Mungo" gets a well-deserved FOUR COURSE MEAL review.
