  THE LOVED ONES

Here we have an Australian horror film I only recently stumbled upon on one of my many (too many if truth be told) random meanderings of the internet. Do not let it be misunderstood, because "The Loved Ones" is most definitely "torture porn". However, what makes this movie so much better than the normal schlock of said movies are the honorable attempts at character development and story construction. Not to mention the fact that the antagonist is a psychotic, sadistic teenage girl played brilliantly by Robin McLeavy (who you will recognize from the show "Hell on Wheels").

This movie is shot well, acted well, and the script is fantastic. Quite a relief after the unmitigated failures of "You're Next" and "The Green Inferno".

Hard to find, well worth the watch for those of you who have the stomach for it; I enjoyed "The Loved Ones" a great deal. That's why it gets a FAST FOOD MEAL review.
