I loved this movie. With that said, this film is not for everyone. The subject matter is dark... I mean, really dark, incest and rape. However, it is so beautifully filmed and so wonderfully acted and directed that the horror does seem to fit. Also of note is the manner in which the story is told. Normally I don't like movies that mess around with a linear timeline; noteworthy exception, in fact the only one that comes to mind (I'm sure there are more I just can't think of any right now), is "Memento". But "Brimstone" does this brilliantly. It did not feel forced at all. It felt as if the manner in which the story was told, was the manner in which the story SHOULD be told.
"Brimstone" is not for everyone, but it still deserves a FOUR COURSE MEAL review.
