Let me say this loud and clear... I LOVED "Solo". I thought it was as close to a perfect Star Wars story as one could ask for. I loved everything- direction, acting, story, dialogue, character development, special effects, cinematography, music... EVERYTHING. They built sets in which they placed their excellent cast. They gave the actors good dialogue to chew. The humor was not forced but organic. What C.G.I. there was, was gorgeous, and what practical effects there were, which were many, were also gorgeous. This is hands down my third favorite Star Wars movie, behind "Rogue One" and "Empire Strikes Back". The new movies; E.g. "The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi" need to take a good hard look at these "one-offs", because they are fantastic films. And as far as I'm concerned the "canon" is not doing the mythology justice... at all, while the "one-offs" keep blowing me away.
"Solo: A Star Wars Story" receives the highest FAST FOOD MEAL review I can give. Rush out to your theatre's and see this before it's gone!
