I did not like "Gringo". So much so, I actually turned it off. First and foremost for me was the fact that I was bored with it. I didn't love any of the characters, nor did I hate them. They simply were... blah. Secondly, "Gringo" does not know what the fuck it is. It's billed as a black comedy. And I love black comedies. But "Gringo's" failings are that it isn't dark enough, or funny enough, or violent enough. It was simply, again... blah. There are some great actors in here, but they have nothing solid to work with.
"Gringo" is boring, therefore it gets my dreaded RICE CAKE review. If you want to watch a few black comedies watch: "In Bruges", "The Ice Harvest", or "The Guard".
