Holy crap… holy crap… holy crap… HOLY CRAP!
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is absolutely, positively, without a doubt wonderful! It gets a FOUR COURSE MEAL review.
This is by far the best Harry Potter movie to date. "The Order" is not just a good "Harry Potter" film; it is, quite simply, a good film. They seemed to get every thing right, from tempo to emotion to story arc to script to action to special effects. Not only that, but they unerringly focused on, what was, the heart of the book- Harry Potter's story. Everything in this movie is exceedingly well done, and- as the English like to say- spot on. Also, the actors have matured not only physically, but professionally as well: Radcliffe is brilliant, Watson is outstanding, and Grint is remarkably understated. What was really impressive to me was the emotional tone throughout the film. They may not have filmed every paragraph or every chapter, but they certainly captured the essence of the story, and I have never felt so much for Harry Potter (since reading the book) as I did watching "The Order". He truly is a wonderfully tragic character.
I love these books and this world with every fiber of my being, and the movies make me love them even more. Say what you will, but I believe Rowling should be trumpeted throughout as one of the worlds' greatest storytellers. She has done amazing things with the Harry Potter series, and she may go down in history as one of the most popular writers the world has ever witnessed.
