  THE SKIN I LIVE IN

Wow. I really... really enjoyed this film. If I have one critique, it may be, and I might regret saying this because the film is a joy to watch even if some of the time it adroitly made me squirm with discomfort, that the film is too long. But the journey is twisted and wrong and sweet. This film is not for everyone. It has a feel and coldness to it similar to Chan-wook Park's films, or possibly Takashi Miike, both of whom, for my part, are usually outstanding directors, but understandably, not for the faint of heart. Everything done in "Skin" is done true to form; acting, direction, cinematography, editing, screenplay, and music. The structure is broken down similar to "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", in the sense that there is a long flashback scene somewhere in Act II. It all comes together beautifully. And leaves you haunted and thinking.

I give "The Skin I live In", a FOUR COURSE MEAL review.
