I've been watching a lot of movies lately. The Chronicles of Narnia is among them, and it, for lack of a much better word, is fabulous.
I give The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe a FOUR COURSE MEAL review.
Now, I've been reading some reviews of this film, and they are pathetically inadequate. It runs the gamut to being a great film, and or, the very worst. Narnia is, however, tremendous. I guarantee, if you like Harry Potter and the films, you will like Narnia. Some of the negatives I've read is that the movie is overtly religious. This is simply not true. Barring the resurrection of Aslan and some character names taken directly from the bible, Narnia does not trumpet Catholicism in any way. What it does trumpet, and trumpet proudly, I might ad, is imagination and wonder. The acting, including all of the young stars, is superb. In fact, one of the best reviews stated that the little actress, Georgie Henley, (cute as a puppies butt) who plays Lucy, has such an air of truth to her… you believe that SHE believes in the world of Narnia and Aslan and Mr. Tumnus.
Regardless of its inspiration (this coming from a proud, strong, and passionate aetheist) Narnia is a wonder to behold and well worth any price of admission.
