Here is another great surprise for me. "Tomorrow Land"... I loved it.
For those of you who know me, you all know that I can tend to be a bit jaded... nay cynical... dare I say it, bitter. It's true. The world and its lack of integrity, intelligence, and simple things like manners and empathy, wears on me to a point where, when I look at a monster like Donald Trump I think to myself, "well, if this country votes that narcissist in, we deserve everything we get". I know. Not very optimistic. But that's why I love movies. Movies remind me that it's good to hope. Movies remind me that love, for all its failings, is possible, and that good people can make a difference. (Even though, as I write this, my cynical mind is laughing at me.)
That's where "Tomorrow Land" lies, in a well-spring of hope. And I kind of love it because of that. It's also well-acted, beautifully shot, and the script is well written.
I give "Tomorrow Land" a high FAST FOOD MEAL review. It reminds us all that it's okay to hope, even if that hope only lasts for the duration of the film.
