  The Ice Harvest

Again, this review will be blessedly short. I give The Ice Harvest a FOUR COURSE MEAL review.

They do not make movies like this any more. "Ice Harvest" is twisted and funny and sick and wrong and viloent and warped. It is fantastic! Many people will not know how to take, and or, accept this movie. It will be, for most, difficult to comprehend. I should say, I am not privy to some relatively undisclosed wisdom, but I am comfortable with a film that switches, to and fro, between hilarity and disparity, riotous laughter and flagrant violence. More so, I trumpet such an adult and mature movie, and hope (against all hope) that movies like these... those that explore the darker aspects of our minds, do not fade away in the wake of the ubiquitous "family entertainment" wave.

Go see "The Ice Harvest".

On a side note: I cannot recall ever not liking Oliver Platt. The movie he may be in might be the most inane, vacuous piece of shit ever made, but he is always funny, always endearing, and always entertaining. Oliver Platt, as always, well done.
