  STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

So, I went back and revisited "Blade Runner: 2049". And I'm glad I did, for the second viewing hit home with me, very strongly, that not only is the film good, but I think it's great.

I did the same thing with "The Last Jedi", and much to my chagrin it was not the same experience as with "2049".

Let me state this very clearly, "The Last Jedi" sucks. It is not a good Star Wars movie, but even worse... it is not a good movie. Where do I begin with everything wrong with "The Last Jedi". Space Leia? Check. Superfluous characters; E.g.- Finn, Rose, and DJ? Check. Superfluous side story; I.e.- the whole save the horses bullshit from the mean gamblers casino crap? Check. Lost opportunities- killing of Leia, having a cyclical moment with Luke where he goes out like Obi Wan Kenobi? Check. Bad aesthetics- Snoke in a shimmering gold robe, too much green-screen C.G.I. Check. Not to mention the "how-do-we-end-this" multiple endings bullshit.

"The Last Jedi" does not hold up on a second viewing, therefore I give it my second and final review- the dreaded BIRTHDAY CAKE review.
