"Let the Right One" is an incredibly bizarre, amazingly fresh, adroitly executed spin on the vampire mythos. Shot in Sweden (where yours truly has been lucky enough to spend some time) the film draws you in slowly, requiring an investment in the characters lives' and the outcome of those lives rarely seen in American films. The special effects are done tastefully and subtlety (barring the scene with the cats). The child actors are superb. I have two issues with the script (WARNING- SPOILERS): one- the scene where the dad's dubious heterosexuality is alluded to, and two- the scene in which the director flashes us a shot of the young, female characters vagina. Both make very little sense thematically or dramatically; barring that the script and story are superb.
I highly recommend "Let the Right One In", and therefore, give it a FOUR COURSE MEAL review.
