  EX MACHINA

Alex Garland, the director of the amazing, awe-inspiring, "Ex Machina", penned both "28 Days Later", and "Sunshine". Which were directed by Danny Boyle, who is in the running, alongside Christopher Nolan, as my second favorite director of all time. So it should be no surprise that his first directorial debut is brilliant.

"Ex Machina" exists on many levels: cerebral, emotional, spiritual. It is astounding, both visually and structurally. The writing is fantastic, the acting superb, and the cinematography breath taking. Every nuance is thought out and planned, and then finally executed fluidly so that the story has its own organic pacing and movement. Gods! I loved this movie! In the preceding weeks after seeing "Ex Machina" I have read some reviews stating that the film is misogynistic and racist. Nothing could be further from the truth. Those people that would have you believe these things, are the same people that would crush all creativity and undermine even the most wonderful imagination. They are the same people that want drama to be safe and secure. They are the same people who would water down your entertainment. Do not listen to them!

"Ex Machina" is the best the genre can provide. It gets a FOUR COURSE MEAL review. And you should see it sooner rather than later.
