Oh my god! He exclaims with much excitement and fervor. The Chronicles of Riddick… ROCKED! I give it my highest rating, a FOUR COURSE MEAL.
This movie is such a kick ass blast of a film an hour into it I had totally forgoten it was only rated PG-13. I liked everything about David Twohy's film… the sets, the costumes, the special effects, the story, the action, the dialogue, the stunts. If you saw and loved Pitch Black (which you should, considering it's a brilliant film), you will "simply die for" The Chronicles of Riddick. It's both awesome and awe inspiring. It's epic in a way that has only been recently captured by movies like Lord of the Rings, Under World, and in it's own way, Master and Commander. I didn't expect much from this movie and walked out of the theatre thinking that this just might be the best film I see this year. Phe-fuckin'-nomenal.
Run to the theatres. See this film before it goes away. It's fun, entertaining, exciting, and jaw-dropping. This movie, and this character, was made for Vin Diesel.
By the way, the writer/director David Twohy is a flippin' genius in his own right. He can make movies as intimate and character-driven as Pitch Black, and Below (which I also highly recommend) and then bring such a grand spectacle as The Chronicles to a level that feels just as intimate, just as sincere as his former smaller films.
GO SEE THIS FILM!
