Well at least the movie's interesting.
I kept almost turning it off during the first act because the director kept pulling the camera away at some of the titular moments. And it wasn't so much an artistic decision as it was jarring, and confusing. It was almost as if he didn't want his little horror move to BE a horror movie. However, that is exactly what "The Eyes of My Mother" is.
After he gets over the hump of Act 1 things smooth out a little bit better. And the story is dark... real dark. And I liked the story quite a bit. The director made a few decisions I didn't quite agree with (I've never been a fan of black and white... it's too fuckin' artsy), but by the end I think I liked it.
"The Eyes of My Mother", an interesting little independent horror movie you can stream on netflix, gets a waffling FAST FOOD MOVIE review.
