HOLY SPACE CRAP!
Forget that I think J.J. Abrams is an untalented hack blatantly stealing everything good and artistic from the 1980's. Forget the fact that his television series "Lost" was an unmitigated failure, "Mission Impossible III" was passable at best, "Super 8" rode heavily upon the shoulders of everything Spielberg has ever done, and his re-boot of "Star Trek" was quite simply a painful, brightly colored mess. Forget all that. It has all been expunged. His record is clean, his slate wiped. What he did with "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" negates all his previous failures. Because, in point of fact, what he did was magical. What he did made me feel like I was eight again seeing the universe for the very first time. What he did will forever endear him to me, and to thousands, nay, millions just like me.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is made with love and reverence; paying homage to all that had come before it, while effortlessly opening up a new chapter to to the saga. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" gets a FOUR COURSE MEAL review. (Yes. It's that good.)
