Strange... of the two movies I've chosen to review this week, both are westerns, and both have the veteran actor Ethan Hawke in them. Strange.
I enjoyed "In a Valley of Violence". It is undoubtedly an independent, low budget film, but there were some truly nice moments in the film; due largely to it two key stars- the aforementioned Mr. Hawke and John Travolta. Whose aptly named character- Marshall- is both charming and disarming. The only thing that brings this film down is some lackluster performances from some of the ancillary characters and actors. As well as a, probably unintentional, painful resemblance to "John Wick"; basically this movie is "John Wick" in the west. But with all that, I still liked it.
I give "In the Valley of Violence" a mid to low FAST FOOD MEAL review.
