"Upgrade" was a complete and utter surprise. First off, I loved it! Sure... it ain't the most original concept, gathering strongly from movies like "Ex Machina" and "Robocop", but they do interweave a wonderful story throughout; replete with a surprise ending that legitimately surprised me. Second, the movie was made (estimated) for around 5 million, which is freaking peanuts compared to the over-budget Hollywierd schlock being churned out to the hungry masses. For that alone "Upgrade" should be applauded. It looks like a far more expensive movie and really does an excellent job within those limited parameters. Not to mention the fight scenes are simply fun and fantastic.
"Upgrade" is a good movie. Therefore, I give it a FAST FOOD MEAL review.
